“The Monkey’s Paw” was a labor of love as all films are or should be. I heard the story when I was very young and it scared me enough to make a very deep impression. In a good way of course. Since that moment I wanted to see it — I HAD to see it as a movie. Though I’ve seen an adaptation or two, they never satisfied what was envisioned in my mind from hearing the tale. This version is as faithful as I think you could possibly be to W.W. Jacobs’ original tale. At least as it is in the cinema of my mind. Now I get to share with you that cinema and enjoy watching it alongside.
